Local and Statewide Advocacy Groups

There are many great nonprofits in Helena and around Montana that have a hand in preserving our trails, making our communities more bike friendly, and promoting a healthy and active lifestyle through cycling and other means.  Below is a list of organizations that go the extra mile for cyclists.

Prickly Pear Land Trust

Prickly Pear Land Trust's (PPLT) mission is to protect the natural diversity and rural character of the Prickly Pear Valley and adjoining lands through voluntary and cooperative means. The Land Trust is dedicated to perpetuating the recreational, wildlife, scenic, agricultural and historic values of the land.

Montana Bicycle Guild

The Montana Bicycle Guild is charged with a dual mission:
1. To enhance and foster Montana's bicycling community through the development and advocacy of bike riding and community resources.
2. To produce world-class mountain bike races in Montana and the surrounding region.
Overall, the comprehensive scope of the MBG aims to promote and expand cycling opportunities within our local community of Helena, as well as around the state through trail advocacy and maintenance, community partnerships and collaboration, and state-wide race series promotion and expansion.

Montana Mountain Bike Alliance

The mission of the Montana Mountain Bike Alliance is to preserve, protect, and promote mountain bike access and diverse riding opportunities on Montana's public lands through education, communication, and unified action. MMBA offers pro-active solutions to land protection challenges.

Bike Walk Helena

Bike Walk Helena strives to promote biking and walking throughout the Helena area through education and fun events.

Bike Walk Montana

Bike Walk Montana makes biking and walking safe and accessible for all.
